After the first chapter of the Twilight saga when Edward saved Bella's life. Edward and his vampire family, the Cullen's, throw Bella a surprise birthday party but when Bella accidentally cuts her finger, the blood-lust takes over the clan and Bella gets attacked. Because of that the Cullen's including Edward decide to leave town for Bella's own good.
