A young boy named Carl Fredricksen meets a girl named Ellie. They both dream of going to South America to start an adventure of their own which was inspired by the daring adventures of Charles Muntz. They soon get married and keep the dream alive, but all throughout 70 years they never got to go to South America until Ellie passed away.
